wuzzup dog

I thought that I would show you Jessica chillin' the other day. She is a complete joy to have around.

I decided to try some new stuff to Cailyn's hair. She doesn't always let me, so this was a rare occasion. Thanks for letting me play sweet heart.

Birthday Delite!

Jason made me some "Better than Sex Cake" for my birthday. It was so delicious, it was almost sinful. That is probably where it got its name. Since we are a pretty small family and I shouldn't eat too much of a cake like that, Jason took the rest of it to work. I am so glad, because I probably would have eaten nothing else. Thank you Jason for the delectable treat.

The Frog Song

This is a song that we sing in Primary and Cailyn just loves it. This is her favorite version. She always wants us to sing really high(sounds silly with my voice, I apologize). I love it when she sings with me. Most of the time she either just wants me to sing a Cinderella song or asks me to be quiet. I definitely prefer this option.

Sorry this is so dark, she really has some cute expressions.

Sisters

Occassionally our girls play really well together. I guess I should say that occassionally Cailyn tolerates Jessica, or the other way around. Well, I suppose both scenarios need happen at the same time. Anyway, it doesn't happen very often that they giggle and laugh together, but when it does it is so fun to watch. I can't help laughing and giggling with them. I love these little girls!

Say Cheese!

Everytime I look at this picture of Cailyn it makes me think of Drew Barrimore in ET. I love my cute little darlings.

I'm tagged again!

My friend Sharon tagged me! So I thought I would play along since it was fun reading her answers.

My Valentine is perfect

I have to admit that Jason and I are so completely perfect for each other. Don't get me wrong, there are times when we don't agree, but we really do work well together. For example, we both agree that there really is no need for a Valentine tradition. I feel like the holiday is mostly commercial, so we don't really do much of anything traditional. I do agree that we should celebrate the love we have in our lives, not only the romantic love. The girls and I didn't really do anything special(Cailyn had a fever all day, and I had an extra baby). But, Jason had a special night planned(He is so sweet). He was going to go to the store on his way home from work, but knew that I would want to get out, so we went as a family. It was nice(I know, lame). One of my favorite things to eat is a steak. So, Jason picked out some choice meat and and the other things we needed, hit Blockbuster and went home. When we got home we fed the girls and put them down a little early. Jason prepared our romantic dinner. We talked(trying to avoid baby talk), recalling our past together. All in all, it was nice to be Jason and Mindi for a couple of hours, instead of Mommy and Daddy. It was refreshing. Thank you Jason for a beautiful evening, Happy Valentines Day! I love you!

Camping?

Last weekend the girls and I went to visit my parents in Waco. Cailyn doesn't really like to sleep in a room by herself while we are there. So, in an attempt to rid Cailyn of that fear, Meme set up a little tent. She had given us one the week before and thought maybe that would help to comfort Cailyn. Well, we ended up setting it up in the room that Jessica and I were sleeping in. Cailyn didn't want to sleep in it by herself, so I layed down with her. The only problem was that this tent is quite small and didn't have room for me to lay down inside, so I just put my pillow inside and the rest of my body was outside on the floor. After Cailyn finally fell asleep(it always takes her a long time) I crawled into bed with Jessica. Halfway through the night Cailyn woke up and noticed I wasn't there and got into bed with us. Needless to say, the next night we all just started the night in the same bed. Thanks Mom, it really was a good and fun idea. I am sorry it didn't work.

On a side note, doesn't Jessica look so big in this little rocker? That red rocking chair is a family chair. My mom actually sat in that as a small child. I love it and so do the children. It is just their size. I just can't believe that Jessica fits in it, she is getting so big. (for those of you who are concerned, I didn't leave her side-she wasn't secure in it)

Banana Bread

We have had these extremely ripe bananas that I have been meaning to use, but have not really had the time to do it. I don't know how, but somewhere in my day I was able to finally make my banana bread. It is one of my most favorite treats. My mouth was watering just mixing the dough. Then I could smell it baking and I had to fight not to just pick up the entire loaf and it is in one sitting when it was done. I am not really sure if it is because I have been dieting, or what, but I believe that this is the best banana bread I have ever made.

It is the simple things in life that bring us the greatest pleasure.

Congratulations Daddy!

A couple of weeks ago, Jason finished a particularly hard class for school. We were so excited to have him back for a day or two that we went out to eat(a rare occassion for us for many reasons). It was really nice to relax and spend some time together without having to worry about cooking and cleaning dinner.
We are very proud of you Jason and all of your hard work. We hope that each class will bring you success.

You are my Sunshine!

You are my sunshine, one of my sunshines,
you make me happy when skies are gray.
You'll never know, dear, how much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.

We love you Jessica!

Stickers

Since I have been watching all these extra babies, I have regretfully neglected Caiyn a bit. She can pretty much take care of herself, but she tends to get into things when I don't watch her(mind you, nothing like Kaden-Rachel's oldest boy). It is always interesting finding what she is doing and playing with.
The other day I found her playing with her stickers. We had been using them for her 'stinky book' but she found a better use for them.

I am still finding stickers all over the house.

Update!

Just to catch everyone up on the lives of the Texas
Holloways.

1. Jason is feeling much better. He has almost completely recovered. He
still coughs, and has a runny nose. But, he is back at work and is playing
with the girls again. Thank you for all of your prayers and concerns.

2. I am still babysitting. However, I have arranged it so that I will only
have one additional child each day. Every other Tuesday I will have 2 extra, but I think I can handle twice a month of that. I am slowly regaining my strength and sanity. I am still working on getting the house back in place.

3. I have decided to do the Body for Life program to lose weight. My brother, Kyle, really should be getting paid for the advertizing he does for it. I am constantly thinking about it, otherwise I forget to drink the water or I miss one of the meals. I did manage to take a before picture, but that is for my eyes only. Maybe, when I have reached my goal weight I will be courageous enough to share that(doubtful, very doubtful).

4. Cailyn is a champ in Primary. She occassionally gets up with
the visitors or the birthday kids, but not very often. We had one
episode of her screaming when I left the room, however, my threats that she would have to go with Daddy for the rest of church ended that drama.

I don't have anything else to update right now. If there is something
I have missed please remind me and I will post it.

Chocolate Pretzels

One of the many incentives to going 'stinky' on the potty was to make chocolate covered pretzels. She has not had potty problems in a long time, but still requests the rewards. We are slowly weening her off of most of them, but I think the one that will stay is the pretzels. You see, we all love them, but the best part is when we are making them. I think there is very little in Cailyn's world that excite her as much as making, and eating, the pretzels. We have so much fun. She is in charge of putting the pretzels in the chocolate and when they are dry, putting them in the bowl. She has learned that when they are shiny they are still wet and we need to wait a little longer. She is so cute about it. Everytime we make them and she notices the first one is dry she turns to me and says (with the pretzel in hand) "I am just going to eat this one. Is that fine with you?" I absolutely love how she has picked up on my phrases. They sound so adorable coming from her in her cute little voice.

Out of Commission

The past 4 days have been really awful for Jason. He has felt sick at his stomach, sneezing like crazy, and going through tissue like you wouldn't believe. Yesterday he came home after work with a fever of 102. He got some drug advice from his brother-in-law, Mark, and sent me to the store. He took some Nyquill and went to bed. Somewhere around 3 am he got up to use the bathroom and I heard a couple of loud bangs. I ran to find him on the floor in front of the door. I couldn't get the door open. He told me that he must have fainted. He doesn't remember falling, just waking up on the floor. It scared me so bad. I had been asking him to call someone for a blessing, but it wasn't until then that he agreed(we only have 1 other preisthood holder in Mineral Wells). He called in sick, of course, and some brethren from the ward that work in Mineral Wells are coming over after work.

So far, he has just slept all day. But, I am watching a couple of kids today(other than my own) and his sleep has been interrupted many times. I have heard that a lot of men are babies when they are sick, but I am fortunate and are not married to one of those. If anything, he pushes himself too far(obviously--he fainted). Please keep Jason in your prayers, I really have never seen him this sick.
