Yesterday I lost my phone. It nearly drove me crazy. I went through everything, retracing my steps, calling the phone every 5 minutes. It was completely gone. I was constantly distracted, unable to do my normal routine. I was certain that either I had left it in the grocery basket that morning(yes I went there and called all day), or David had thrown it in the trash(which was taken to the street when the truck had come). I was in the process of getting it turned off and replaced all day with the necessary people all the while panicked that I had lost all the numbers and contacts, not to mention the last recording of Mom's voice. Needless to say I was devastated.
Today the kids and I went to visit Memema and Aunt Kathy(and of course see that beautiful new baby of Sadie's) in Arlington. I gave the kids a small baggie of honey nut cheerios for the ride home. It was obviously not small enough because there were cheerios all over the seat and floor of the van when we got home. So, after bathroom visits we got some trash bags and proceeded to clean up the back seat. While crouched under the seat I saw a familiar little contraption. IT WAS MY PHONE! My first thought was that the Lord works is mysterious ways. I probably would not have found the phone early enough to not get it turned off without that mess there. Then my thoughts turned to my blame of David. I immediately felt guilty for blaming my mistake on sweet little David.
This evening Jason and I went in search of the missing DVD remote. And while going through EVERY toy box, couch, drawer, and cabinet was a lot of fun, it was only when we went through the kitchen trash can that we found the remote. My feeling of guilt vanished instantly. THAT I can blame on David without any doubt.
Happy New Year!

Glad you found your phone, and your little boy sounds like a typical little boy...at least mine they always thought it was fun to make a basket with things into the trash cans...
