Busy, busy, busy

It has been entirely too long since I last posted. However, I think it is safe to say that I have a good excuse(or 3). Truth is that I have been enjoying the time home with Jason and dreading the day he goes back to work(this coming Monday). I have tons of pictures to post and will do that when we get back and I force myself to do it. But I will leave you all with a little taste of the past couple of weeks.

We have blessed Baby David, then enjoyed a tasty meal with some family. Thank you for all who came to share in that joyous event.

We have had a wonderful trip to Waco to spend some time with my Dad and siblings(we missed you Jim), and took some pictures with all the grand kids who were here. Those are always fun to do.

We have had a very productive visit from Jason's parents(Lita & Papa). Jason and Papa got a lot of home repairs done(and a big home improvement project). Cailyn and Lita spent every waking moment together. David was sufficiently spoiled all week long. Someone was always holding him(me included--when the adults outnumber the children everyone gets attention). The girls spent a great many minutes outside on the trampoline with Lita. We got family pictures done with Lita and Papa, went to Dinosaur State Park, and The Fort Worth Zoo. I am sure the Lita & Papa are extremely worn out. They left this morning and we were all sad to see them go. Thank you for coming to see us, it means a lot that you would travel this far to see our little family. We love you and already miss you.

Many pictures are coming soon. Be ready for a photo overload.

Our sweet David

I LOVE BABY FEET!

Jason and I are trying to get the hang of changing a baby boy's diaper as compared to a baby girl's diaper. I have to say that girls are sooooo much easier. Yes, they still pee when being changed, but theirs usually just drips down into the diaper. However, a boy get urine EVERYWHERE when his diaper is being changed. And just when you think he is done and you are safe to continue, there it goes again. The other night, Jason was changing David's diaper and there it went shooting up over his body and straight onto his face. Poor little thing shot himself with it. So, needless to say we gave him a bath that night(and when I say we, I mean Jason-not as punishment, it just was him and not me-I don't want to take credit for something I didn't do). Here are a few pictures of that momentous event. He can get pretty loud, but wasn't as loud as I expected him to be. He certainly didn't like it, but it was as bad as I thought it would be.
The girls just absolutely LOVE to kiss on David. They have a hard time giving him space though. I try to keep it to a one-at-a-time activity, but that doesn't always work. This morning, they took turn after turn kissing him good morning. He is a pretty lucky boy to get kisses from 2 beautiful girls in the morning.
The girls also like to hold him. Cailyn does a much better job of it of course so she ends up holding him while Jessica is doing the kissing. I just love to watch this kind of thing going on. I was so worried about how Jessica would behave around him, but she LOVES him to pieces.
Jessica could find the room to kiss him on the head at the same time as Cailyn, so she gave Cailyn kisses. She really is a loving little girl.
*Please don't mind Cailyn's messy hair!*
During nap time today, Cailyn decided to organize our DVDs. She is too cute. She did clean this up all by herself(I guess, I was napping and it was clean when I got up).

The potty chair

Lately we have been having Jessica sit on the potty chair. While I realize that potty training is still a while away(and dreading it, by the way), I am happy to see how excited she is to sit on the chair. It is really cute to see her claim it as hers. Is there no end to her cuteness?
This was just before bath time, that is the only reason she is naked.

Torture of a toddler

Tonight at dinner Jessica had a hard time finishing her food. We have been pretty good about making Cailyn finish her dinner if she wants dessert, but have not been as strict with Jessica. We are working on that and tonight she wasn't happy about it. I thought that we would show everyone proof that Jessica can be extremely intense.

Coming Home

When we got home from the hospital, my sister had some flowers waiting for us. They were/are gorgeous. I couldn't help but take picture after picture of them. Thank you Lynnae they are beautiful.

Yes, that is an orange counter in my bathroom.

David brought the girls a gift when we arrived and they were so thrilled. Thank you again Lynnae, for putting that together.
The more I think about what I want to share the more I think of everything that Lynnae did for us. She was a Godsend. The night before we went in to induce Jason sent Lynnae and me out to spend some time together(thank you Babe). We went to get pedicures, put together the gift for the girls, and got a hamburger and ice cream. It was so nice. Thank you to both of you for pampering me. Later that evening Lynnae gave me a manicure. I tell you what, I felt as pretty as I could have felt going in to have a baby.
I have been worried about how the girls would react to having David home and taking some of their attention. However, Cailyn is soooooo happy to have him here and constantly wants to help care for him. Jessica's first priority when seeing him is to give him a kiss. She is so loving with him and I hope and pray that that stays. They do have a hard time giving him and me space to do diaper changes and feedings. Soon we will have our routine down and they will know what to do right?
Cailyn took these pictures. She is getting pretty good huh?
I know that this is out of order, but I wanted to share how the delivery went. We were scheduled to go to the hospital at 6:00 am for the induction. After discussing how they usually do inductions(using pitocin/sp?) we decided that we didn't like that and wanted to do it the same way we were induced with Jessica(using cytotek/sp?). The doctor was confused as to why they did it that way last time, but neither here nor there, it worked--and fast. They(the doctor and nurses) all agreed that it usually takes MANY hours for the drug to take affect and usually needs pitocin to work anyway. However, we did not need pitocin last time and so we went that route again. I was given the cytotek around 7:30 am and real labor started somewhere around 10:30-11:00 am. The nurses were amazed. I received my epidural around 11:30 and I started pushing around 12:30. Then at 12:43 our sweet little David Christopher arrived. We all agreed at that point that cytotek is my drug of choice for inductions.
David and I are doing really well. I am continuing to heal and we are working at nursing. He has mastered latching on to one side and is getting a little better at the other. We should have it learned within the next couple of weeks. Hopefully before Jason goes back to work.
We are extremely grateful to all who have come to visit and help. We welcome all who would like to come and meet out new little Holloway. We anxiously await the visit from Lita, Papa, and Tia. We are excited about this new change in our family and are adjusting as quickly as possible.
